Following the official launch of tri-fold foldable smartphones by major tech manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei, it’s now clear that Xiaomi will make a strong entry into this category. A new certification record in the Global Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) database has revealed the first concrete details about the company’s highly anticipated tri-fold device.
Xiaomi Mix Trifold Coming
The certification listing lists the device’s model number as 2608BPX34C. It’s anticipated that this device will be called the Mix Trifold upon release. Previously revealed patent applications, along with leaked device images, suggest that Xiaomi has been working on this new form factor for some time.
While the certification record currently doesn’t include any additional details beyond the model number, the leaked information suggests the device will be unveiled in the third quarter of 2026. It appears the phone will be a high-end flagship. Powered by the latest Qualcomm 8-series Snapdragon chipset, it’s also expected to feature a triple camera setup.
Based on the patent images, Xiaomi’s design choice appears to be similar to Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate. In this design, the device’s main display folds inward, allowing the phone to take on a more compact form when fully closed. Xiaomi is expected to take the foldable phone market to a new level with this device.
